There’s a good reason why, over the past decade, water gardening has become the hottest number in the entire green industry! The reason is that technological innovations in this industry have transformed the once sleepy, expensive, and headache-laden maintenance mystery of the green industry into a relaxing, naturalistic, joy-filled experience that’s now accessible to most anyone who chooses to participate.
This seminar will allow you to address and debunk all those conventionally based myths and old wives tales that grew up alongside the earlier editions of this hobby. It’s one thing to talk about 20th century water gardening, and an entirely different matter to talk about 21st century water gardening.
The 20th century edition was little more than an expensive and high maintenance toy affordable only by the country club set. The new 21st century edition is an exciting, enjoyable, and naturalistic joy that millions of people all over North America are discovering every week, and every month of the year. By any chance are you one of those people making that discovery? You lucky dog you.
So you’re thinking about A Pond – Summary
Thinking about a pond is the first step towards creating our very own backyard paradise. As professionals, we talk to many people who have built and want to build water features and ponds. What we hear over and over is that the first attempt at this type of project results in many errors and mistakes. In fact, the majority of first-timers will build a second and third pond before they are satisfied.
So why does this happen?
In some cases, it is a spontaneous weekend project and the homeowner visits a local garden center and buys random pond components in an attempt to create their own pond kit. It does not take long before they realize they need more parts and components to finish, so they run to hardware store to get them. In the end, this creates a mixed bag of products that are not compatible with each other, but work for the short term. After a few short weeks, the pump starts to clog, the water turns green, and what was once a nice, clear pond quickly becomes a cesspool. So back to the garden center to talk with someone that can resolve the problems. Many things can happen here, the worst being the salesperson suggesting chemicals for a quick fix. This will only leave the customer to figure out on their own that they need proper biological and mechanical filtration to make the system work.
We call this the “learning curve pond” because many consumers inadvertently go through this experience in order to discover the right way to install a pond. This scenario plays out in everycity across North America and it is our goal to help people have a positive experience the first time around. With your training and education, you can assist homeowners in avoiding a negative water gardening experience.
